Another Dead Bookmarking Site: LookLater

LookLater.comAfter discovering that Shadows.com is no longer operating, I ran into another account of mine that must have been dead for quite a while. I haven’t checked on LookLater for many months now. I have depended on OnlyWire.com to post my bookmarks to my LookLater account and didn’t see the need to check it. Well, turns out i should have checked it. I just found out this week that that LookLater is dead, too.

What happened to LookLater? Good question.

I’m curious as to what happened to the social bookmarking site, too. But I think it had something to do with the great number of more popular bookmarking sites out there. Doug Martin, the creator of LookLater, should have prepared something to tap into the critical linkeratis who prefer bookmarking sites like Reddit, Digg, and other popular bookmarking sites.

Since the creation of LookLater, there had been comments online that looked on it as just another bookmarking site with. Nothing special. Nothing to make it stand out from the rest of the bookmarking sites. Perhaps this was correct. LookLater has promoted itself to go hand in hand with private online bookmarks. But this feature alone didn’t seem to attract many. Besides, other social sites offer private online bookmarking, too.

Like I said, I didn’t keep up much with LookLater. It’s hard for me to pinpoint the real reason why it’s dead (though I think I hit a point above). Who knows? Maybe there are plans to resurrect it. But if they do, they better be sure to have something that is unique from that of the features of Reddit, Digg, Newsvine, and other social bookmarking and networking site.

Shadows Now a Mere Shadow

Shadows.com logo“Shadows gives YOU the power. The power to discover and collect the coolest web pages. The power to always find them again. The power to share pages and opinions, and to tap into the wisdom of others like you”.

But Shadows.com as the social bookmarking site that we know it is no longer online. It’s been close for quite a while now, I’m sure. I last checked on it last year and I was hoping that maybe they were just fixing a huge glitch or something. Well, it really was huge because Shadows.com is gone.

Shadows.com was a very useful bookmarking site for me. It was one of my early favorites. But I guess with big competitions like DIgg, Reddit, Del.icio.us, and other social bookmarking sites, Shadows just wasn’t managed well enough to be among the top social sites of the Web.

My Final Blogger Blog

After weeks of continuous changes, I’ve finally began my FINAL blogger blog. Notice the caps: FINAL. This is because I’ve made so many blogs with blogger since last year, and almost all ended up deleted. It was either they became boring or that I couldn’t come up with any more updates for them.

Now, though, I’ve settled for this blog. Creating it was very challenging for me. Because I had to go through uploads and read through codes just to get the template right. Oh, and I love my template! I think this template was originally a WordPress template. Luckily, JackBook.com converted it to XML codes and Blogger blogs can now use it.

Well, unlike my blogs here in WordPress, Crappy Happy Moments is going to be more easy-going and more personal. It will center on my hobbies… so expect it to be full of anime and manga comments.

I’m actually planning on making a sort of extension blog for Crappy Happy Moments. I’m planning it to be my Articles and Features section or something. I’m not sure yet, though. I’ll need to plan for it because another blog would mean making time extensions and adjustments. It could eat up whatever free time I have left.
